2.02 AUTOMATIC WINDOW SYSTEM
GT 1500 Convenience Window
A.
Mode of Operations: Sliding window shall slide on exterior of building.
Sliding window shall be driven by an electro-mechanical operator in
conjunction with an electronic control system. The window will be pulled from
closed to open and open to closed position stopping the door in both
directions by electrically reducing the voltage, stalling the window against a
mechanical stop. Opening and closing speeds and hold open time shall be
adjustable. A reinforced timing belt shall be used to convert rotating motion
from the operator sprocket into horizontal motion of the window. Timing belt
shall be spring loaded to maintain proper belt tension. The window’s lead
stile shall be flush with the vertical sight line of the fixed panel in the
open position. The window operation shall not require any fluids or gases
under pressure in opening or closing of the window.
B.
Components
1. Aluminum window, sidelite, operator
housing and frame.
2. Rollers-support, anti-riser and guide.
3. Air infiltration and intrusion
protection equipment.
4. Gyro Whisperslide power close operator
with electronic control.
5. Soft start energy reducer
1a)
Window panel and fixed panel shall be assembled with 3/8-16 threaded
tie rods spanning full length of top and bottom rails. Snap-in glass stop with
integral extruded vinyl standoff to accommodate glass flexing.
1b)
Operator housing section shall be 5-¾" high (146.06mm) x
4-5/8" deep (117.48mm).
1c)
Vertical jambs shall be: 2" x 5" (50.80mm x 127.00mm), drive
jamb shall be 5-½" x 5" (139.70mm x 127.00mm).
1d)
All major extrusions to be .090" (2.29mm) wall thickness.
1e)
All extruded aluminum sections serving as structural members shall be
6061-T6, non-structural shall be 6063-T5.
1f)
Finish: Aluminum shall have a standard finish of AA-M12-C22-A31 (204R1
clear) or AA-M12-C22-A42 (313 dark bronze). Black, painted, and special
finishes available upon request.
2a)
The window assembly shall ride on two 1-7/16" (36.52mm) delrin
support rollers incorporating lubricated sealed ball bearings. The window
shall be held on the track by means of one anti-riser assembly. Each window
panel shall include one guide roller assembly incorporating a self-lubricating
bronze bushing with a urethane outer shell. All steel brackets and fittings
shall be plated for corrosion resistance.
3a)
An adjustable vinyl sweep is located on the bottom of each sliding
window for protection from the elements.
3b)
A ¼" (6.35mm) thick pile weatherstripping on the strike jamb,
header and vertical stile of fixed sidelite to seal out the elements when
window is closed.
3c)
The window shall incorporate a locking system. The lock shall lock into
the strike jamb of the window system.
4a)
Gyro Whisperslide power close operator and electronic control: operator
completely assembled and sealed unit which shall include gear drive
transmission and bearing all located in cast aluminum housing and filled with
special lubricant for extreme temperature conditions. Attached to the
transmission system will be a DC shunt-wound permanent magnet motor with
sealed ball bearings. 1/10 HP motor shall operate from 115 volt supply and
require less than 5 amps at full power stall. The electronic control shall be
a self-contained unit with transformer, solid state motor protection circuit
that de-energizes after 5 seconds (under locked or partially opened-jammed
conditions), rectifier, adjustable 2-60 second time delay, adjustable 0-100
second motor power "on" time circuit and other electronic components
for proper switching of the automatic window equipment and window speed
adjustments. Voltage shall be 115 volt AC with a maximum of 5 amps per power
operator.
