PART 1 - GENERAL
1.01 DESCRIPTION
A.
Furnish and install automatic entrance equipment as indicated on
drawings and as specified.

1.02 QUALITY ASSURANCE
A.
Manufacturer's Qualifications:
Products specified shall be represented by a
factory authorized and trained distributor. Distributor shall maintain a parts
inventory and trained personnel capable of providing service.
B. Requirements of Regulatory
Agencies: Meets requirements of disabled in accordance with Federal
Regulations ANSI 117.
C.
All automatic equipment to comply with ANSI A156.19.
D.
Gyro Tech equipment as manufactured by NABCO ENTRANCES, INC. has been
specified and shall be quoted as the base bid. Other systems may be quoted
along with information specifically detailing the differences from the
following specification.
1:03 SUBMITTALS
A.
Shop drawings showing complete elevations, detail and method of
anchorage to location; installation of hardware; size, shape, joints and
connections; and details of joining with other construction.
B.
Templates and diagrams and/or shop drawings, as needed, shall be
furnished to fabricators and installers of related work for coordination of
operators with doors, frames, hardware, concrete work and other work.
C.
A copy of appropriate manual shall be provided to owners engineer upon
completion of installation.
1.04 WARRANTY
A.
Warranty of power operators: Controls, and labor provided by automatic
door equipment installer against defects in material and workmanship at no
cost to owner, for a period of one year from date of substantial completion of
installation.

2.02 AUTOMATIC SWING DOOR SYSTEM
A.
Gyro Tech System: Automatic swing door system for physically challenged
as indicated on door schedule and details.
B.
Mode of Operation: Spring-close operator shall open door by energizing
motor and shall stop by stalling motor against mechanical stop. Door shall
close slowly by means of spring energy, closing force shall be controlled by
an adjustable hydraulic closer independent of the motor and electric control.
Complete automatic door cycle 8 to 20 seconds. Closing speed shall be fully
adjustable. Manual door operation shall require less than 12 pounds of force
applied to door stile. System shall also operate as a manual door in event of
a power failure. Hold open time shall be adjustable from 0-60 seconds.

1a)
Operator Housing shall be 5 3/4" (146mm) deep by 6" (152.4mm)
high x 36" (914.4mm) long aluminum extrusion with finished end caps and
shall be prepared for mounting to new or existing door frames. All structural
sections shall have a minimum thickness of .166 (4.2mm) and shall be
fabricated of 6063-T5 aluminum alloy. Housing cover shall be removable to
provide service access and shall be extruded from 6063-T5 aluminum alloy to a
minimum thickness of .100 (2.5mm). Plastic covers shall not be acceptable.
1b)
Finish: Aluminum shall have a standard finish of AA-M12-C22-A 31(204R1
Clear)or AA-M12-C22-A42 (313 Dark Bronze). Black and special finishes
available upon request.
2) "GEMINI Power
Operator completely assembled unit shall include silent bevel gear and roller
chain transmission. Gears and chain coated with a special dry lubricant for
extreme temperature conditions. Closer to be an adjustable self contained,
sealed, spring/hydraulic unit. Attached to the transmission system shall be a
DC permanent magnet motor. Motor shall operate from electronic control and
require less than 3 amps at full power stall. Complete unit shall be mounted
with provisions for easy replacement without removing door from pivots or
frame.

Electrical Control: Self contained 100% solid-state unit with all
electronic components for proper operation and switching of "GEMINI”
Power Operator. Control shall include time delay, Push-N-Go circuitry. Control
shall also include sequential mode, and shall have variable opening speed
adjustment.
4)
Connecting Hardware: Connect Conversion Unit (CU-GT400) drive arm to
in-swing door with a urethane covered roller, which shall ride in a track
fabricated of 6061-T6 aluminum alloy attached to the door rail where required
for pull-type operation. Out-swing doors shall be connected to operator by a
two piece drive arm with self aligning rod ends and connecting door bracket
for push-type operation.
2.03 ACTIVATING DEVICES
A.
Carpet Activators: Of sizes and colors as required shall be
manufactured by NABCO ENTRANCES INC.
B.
Wall Switches: 4 ½" diameter (114.3mm) diameter stainless steel,
flush or surface mounted, engraved or plain as manufactured by NABCO
ENTRANCES, INC.

PART 3-EXECUTION
3.01 INSTALLATION
A.
Automatic door equipment shall be installed by factory-trained
installers in compliance with manufacturer's recommendations and approved shop
drawings.
3.02 CLEANING AND PROTECTION
A.
After installation, clean framing members as recommended by
manufacturer. Aluminum surfaces in contact with masonry, concrete, and steel
shall be protected by use of neoprene gaskets where indicated, or a coat of
bituminous paint to prevent galvanic or corrosive action. Protect unit from
damage during subsequent construction.

TO SPECIFICATION WRITER
Indicate under
appropriate Section the following by others:
ELECTRICAL INSTALLER shall furnish and
install all conduit and electrical wiring for activating and door operator. A
minimum of 5 amperes, 115-volt, A/C, 1-phase circuit shall be furnished for
each door operator, terminate and connect to operator control panel in
operator housing.
CONCRETE INSTALLER shall prepare floor at
location of automatic entrance system to accommodate the surface or recessed
electric switch mats as indicated on drawings.
